About
I am currently working towards a PhD in Philosophy (LPS) at UCI. My adviser is David Malament. The thesis and advisers above refer to my first doctorate, in Physics and Mathematical Science, at the Stevens Institute of Technology, where I worked with Chris Search's group. Previously, I completed an AM in Physics at Harvard (while working on my undergraduate degree in Physics and Philosophy).
My research interests include various topics in the foundations of physics, in mathematical physics, and in semi-classical and quantum optics. I also have broad interests in general philosophy of science, in philosophy of mathematics, in metaphilosophy, and in philosophies of common sense. I dabble in popular science writing on the side; my book, The Physics of Wall Street: A Brief History of Predicting the Unpredictable, will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in early January, 2013.
